When Noah Varnell first came across the Health Center Manager role at TrueCare Vista Way, he didn\u2019t know exactly what he was stepping into. But six months in, it\u2019s clear: he\u2019s found more than just a job. He\u2019s found a mission, a team, and a renewed sense of purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t even know what an FQHC was when I applied,\u201d Noah said with a laugh. \u201cBut once I learned about TrueCare\u2019s commitment to community care and the nonprofit model, I realized I was stepping into something really meaningful.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Noah came from the private practice world, but it didn\u2019t take long for him to see the difference at TrueCare. Noah quickly learned that this wasn\u2019t just another health care clinic. He realized TrueCare is a place where collaboration, compassion, community, and culture take center stage, which is great because he has an abundance of all four to offer.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn a lot of ways, these are the Cs that define the TrueCare experience: collaboration, compassion, community, and culture,\u201d Noah said. \u201cIt\u2019s what has guided me thus far, and it has made the work endlessly fulfilling,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a leader, Noah\u2019s approach is grounded in service to both the community and his team. His role, as he sees it, is to lift others up. Because when the team thrives, so do the patients.<\/span><\/p>\n

When Noah Varnell stepped into his role as Health Center Manager at TrueCare Vista Way, he wasn\u2019t entirely sure what to expect. However, six months in, he is certain about two things: he\u2019s found his calling <\/span>and<\/span><\/i> his community.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI honestly didn\u2019t even know what a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) was when I first applied, and in some ways, it\u2019s like a whole new world,\u201d Noah admitted with a smile. \u201cBut once I learned what it meant to be part of a nonprofit health organization that truly serves the community, I fell in love with the idea. It\u2019s been a wonderful change from private practice. It\u2019s a new world that feels like home,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Noah\u2019s job isn\u2019t just about managing operations; it\u2019s about making space for people to thrive and bring their whole selves to work. Every day, he focuses on helping his team succeed personally and professionally so they can give patients their best.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI support my staff the same way they support patients,\u201d said Noah. \u201cThat\u2019s really the heart of what I do: making their lives easier so they can focus on the transformational work we\u2019re doing in the community,\u201d he explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Heart of Vista Way: Teamwork, Passion, and Plenty of Pie<\/span><\/h3>\n

From his first day on site, Noah\u2019s experience was something like kismet. He was struck by the passion his team brings to the job, and his team, in turn, was struck by his infectious enthusiasm.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey are genuine in their commitment to patient care,\u201d explained Noah. \u201cEveryone is obsessed with collaboration. We work as a unit. It\u2019s such a pleasure to be surrounded by people who care this deeply. That\u2019s rare in a lot of ways,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That camaraderie shows up in more ways than one. Whether it\u2019s celebrating Pie Day with pizza and dessert or hosting a cultural potluck where his wife\u2019s enchiladas were a crowd favorite, Noah makes sure the clinic is as joyful as it is hardworking.<\/span><\/p>\n

And if Vista Way had a theme song? Noah replied without hesitation and with the quickness of a veteran gunslinger, \u201cThat\u2019s easy. “We Will Rock You\u201d by Queen. Hands down. Because that\u2019s what we do here. We rock patient care, and we do it together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Culture of Support, From Day One<\/span><\/h3>\n

One of the things Noah values most about TrueCare is the deep and ongoing support.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe training and guidance I\u2019ve received here is unlike anything I\u2019ve had before,\u201d Noah said. \u201cThat makes such a huge difference in your experience. It informs everything. One of the best aspects of the onboarding process is that it doesn\u2019t stop after onboarding. You\u2019re supported every step of the way,\u201d he explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Noah encourages prospective applicants to lean into empathy and not just experience when <\/span>preparing for an interview at TrueCare.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I interviewed, I thought I had to prove what I could do,\u201d Noah said. \u201cObviously, that\u2019s important, but I learned it\u2019s not the most important quality here. This is an organization unilaterally committed to its mission, and I quickly realized what mattered most was how much I cared. That\u2019s a really special part of working here, and what TrueCare looks for and values across the board. You have to be aligned with the mission. That\u2019s what I would say to people who want to work here,\u201d he explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That culture of care extends beyond patients and staff. As Noah sees it, TrueCare\u2019s community involvement plays a huge role in increasing access to care.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to have patients walk in and say, \u2018I saw you at a community event!\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s how we\u2019re reaching more people and offering them healthcare they might not have had otherwise. It\u2019s unbelievably meaningful to have these tangible examples of the difference we\u2019re making.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Balancing Purpose with Passion<\/span><\/h3>\n

Noah\u2019s \u201cwork superpower,\u201d as he calls it, is his ability to pivot with purpose. And we can definitely attest to this as he has managed the expansion of our operations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a fast-paced environment, but I\u2019ve learned to adapt quickly with the help of a great support system,\u201d Noah said. \u201cWe\u2019re all working toward the same goal, so you know everyone has your back,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That balance extends beyond work, too. Thanks to TrueCare\u2019s commitment to work-life balance, Noah has time to surf, play music, and even do wood whittling during his off hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s random, I know, but having the space to pursue hobbies makes me a better leader,\u201d Noah explained. \u201cI come to work refreshed and ready to give my all when I\u2019m living a more fulfilled life, and they know that,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
